MCSA 2020 Season Restart

The guiding principles fundamental for MCSA to restart our season include:
– MCSA is obliged to comply with Federal, Victorian, Local Government, and Football Victoria mandated advice/requirements in relation to football activity. Participation must be deemed safe by government authorities.
– All participants, including clubs, referees, officials, and players must adhere to Federal, Victorian, Local Government, and Football Victoria requirements/guidelines, MCSA return to play/train conditions.

Subject to adherence to the Federal, Victorian, and Local Government requirements/guidelines, MCSA is tentatively planning to restart our 2020 Season Competitions in the month of July.

COVID-19 Update

MCSA noted the recent FFA decision (1/4) to extend the suspension of grassroots football competitions and associated training until at least the 31st of May 2020. The decision is in light of the ongoing developments including stricter measures imposed by the Federal & State Governments in response to COVID-19.

MCSA understands that reducing community gatherings would help slow the spread of the virus and that this was the driving factor in the decision to extend the suspension period.

It is very regrettable that grassroots community football will not proceed for the next month (and perhaps for an extended period), but as a responsible association, we recognize that we have a role to play in slowing the spread of the virus. Accordingly, MCSA has suspended our 2020 winter season until the 9th of June when we will reassess the situation.

We will continue to communicate new MCSA developments as appropriate.

Please, observe all personal hygiene practices and social distancing. Stay safe and look out for each other. If you don’t feel well, seek medical assistance. Do this to protect yourself, your loved ones, and the community in general.
